Remodel Church Bathrooms
Our bathrooms have not changed since the church was built twenty-some years ago. In this day and age if we are to grow we need modern handicap facilities. We have found a contractor who will donate his time for free and pay his men a basic wage. Also he will let us donate our time and energy to fulfill this project.
This project is quite extensive and involved. Both women's and men's rooms will have to be enlarged, concrete floor dug up, walls moved, doors enlarged for wheelchairs, etc. The bathrooms are not as large as we would wish but they will serve our purposes for now until we can afford new facilities. The majority of the cost comes from purchasing handicap equipment such as commodes, vanities, safety bars, etc. All supplies will be purchased 10% above wholesale or 10% below retail.
It is a long term project that may be completed in stages. Meaning we could do the women's side and when that was completed then the men's. In the mean time we would would have a communal bathroom. It would be nice to have this completed by the end of 2011.
