In Christ's time every father was expected to teach his son a trade. A Jewish proverb reads, "He who does not teach his son a useful trade teaches him to be a thief." Usually, a son followed in his father's occupation, with the father passing on his skills and trade secrets. (from Nelson's Illustrated Bible Dictionary, Copyright © 1986, Thomas Nelson Publishers)

Today, I believe the Lord still wishes us to teach our children a useful trade if not by ourselves at least under the guidance of a qualified teachers. We as a church share in that responsibility both directly and indirectly. Through our faith and belief we have told the Lord that we will raise our children, His children, with high morals, attitudes, and knowledge.

Today we have three of our students going to Christian Colleges or Universities. We have seen them grow up in our church and we have helped them grow up in the Lord. Today we can further help them in the form of a scholarship that will broaden their knowledge in the Lord and the world which will further be used to teach their children, our grandchildren, so-to-speak, later in life.

The schools that each student is attending will match anything that our church donates up to $1000.00. So if we donate $1000.00 to a particular student then that student's college will match it with another $1000.00. It is possible for each student to receive a $2000.00 Scholarship.

To Qualify for these matching grants each student must claim Pioneer Faith Evangelical Church as their "Home" Church and attend service regularly while they are home. All three of our students qualify.

Donations may be given to the Church directly or, if you wish, you may click on the tab/s below to donate to each student via credit card or Paypal. Donations must be in by September, 2010 for this coming year.
